Aqua Marina, a facial cleanser by Lush is said to be “Soothing seaweed and calamine cleanser for sensitive skin.” There is no proof that it doesn’t do this, but it is no miracle worker as far as I can tell (and I have really yet to find any cosmetic product I would describe as a miracle). However, I use this every morning and it seems to be compatible with my red, combination skin. A little heads up: the product appealed to me personally mostly because it has calamine powder (as does Fresh Farmacy, which I also purchased from Lush) , I kind of expected it to soothe my skin the same way calamine lotion soothes my bug bites. Also, the product does have a bit of a fishy smell which may be a bit much if you’re overly sensitive to smells, but it doesn’t bother me at all. Something I personally like to do with this product is add water to the container itself, let it sit overnight and repeat until it becomes a thick paste. This made it more convenient for me, but it may not be for you. Adding water may also lessen the effectiveness of the ingredients but that’s all really personal preference. Overall I rate this product a 9/10, based on value (12.95 for the smaller size), effectiveness, and the fact that it does not irritate me skin whatsoever.
